Blythe Power Ashes
2010 - The Goat, Skeyton 13-15.08.2010 For all of you who want something different and want to escape the likes of Lady GaGa and Muse by finding something original then this could be the perfect festival for you. Organised by the truly talented Blythe Power, every year this festival takes on a different outlook with the possibility of a different venue it gives you somewhere different to camp out and a variety of acts to bring true music to your ears. From punk to folk, you couldn't get a more diverse and enjoyable weekend. This year took us to The Goat Inn, Skeyton, Norfolk which, apart from the toilet issues was a great venue. The pub supplied great food and ale plus superb hospitality. My favourite bands from the weekend were Eastfield with their ever so catchy Burt Reynolds tune and The lovely Brothers who put on an extremely funny performance with songs like Kebab. I was really pleased that Anal Beard were back as they were my favourites from 2005 (my first Blythe Power Ashes) and it was great to hear them perform Bus Pass, My Name's Bungle and The Return of Fuckbastard again. Sadly though they didn't play Eight of Spades despite the crowd yelling for it. Oh well, there's always next year. And of course we mustn't forget the amazing Verbal Warning and the new really talented 5 Man Army. Roll on next year, maybe it will be at The Goat, maybe it could be somewhere else. Keep you eye on the Blythe Power website and make sure you don't miss it. |
