Feeder - Birmingham NEC 25.03.2006 Support Band - Goldie Lookin Chain If
you decide to go watch a band at Birmingham NEC, please bear this in mind.
Do not go for seats in the ‘Nosebleeds’.
Having never been to the NEC for a concert, I did not realise how
distorted the sound is in the high seats. Tickets,
having sold out quickly, left us with no choice but to sit in Row Y with only
one row behind us, you really don’t want to be scared of heights.
The
good news: Feeder were being
supported by Goldie Looking Chain. I
had previously seen them at the Isle of Wight Festival in 2005 and I had never
laughed so much. Unfortunately,
despite them probably being equally as funny as back then, we couldn’t hear a
word that they were saying and my partner, who had never seen them, soon got
bored. May I just say, that Rap is
NOT my kind of music as a rule and I do now think that these guys have had there
day. To watch them again would be
like watching re-runs of The Two Ronnies non-stop for the rest of your life. Anyway,
back to the main band, when Feeder finally came on they gave an outstanding
performance and were definitely worth the wait.
The sound improved immensely as it usually does when the headlining band
comes on and the videos showing behind the band were excellent, especially the
70’s style kaleidoscope pattern effects, which went exceptionally well with
the tracks. I would definitely
recommend going to see Feeder at least once having also seen these guys at the
Isle of Wight Festival 2005.
