Motorhead - Royal
Centre, Nottingham
16.11.2009 Support Bands - Girlskool & The Damned I'd been looking forward to this gig as it was my second time taking my mum to see Motorhead. My mum's a rock chick and so cool. Support band Girlskool were just how I remembered them from my Rock n Blues Custom Bike Show rally days. They gave it there all and, for girls, they knew how to play and entertain the audience without having to wear skimpy clothes or strip off. Despite a previous disappointment with The Damned I was looking forward to checking out whether their performance of Elouise had got any better because they had been touring around a lot since the last time I saw them. Unfortunately, it hadn't and my heart sank as the man who had wowed me with this song in the Eighties let me down again. The rest of the gig was ok but I really can't stand Captain Sensible. As always Motorhead played a fantastic set and left us with ringing in our ear and less money in our pockets for having the need to buy after gig merchandise. My 2nd time seeing Motorhead and this time it was up close and more personal than Hammersmith. I could listen to them over and over so I shouldn't think it will be the last time I see them. |
