Acme School of Motoring - Where Did You Pass Your Test?

Have you met the man who passed his driving test with Acme School of Motoring?  Well I seem to meet him frequently.  Whether it's on my way home from work or out on a day trip or even coming home from the cinema.  The other night there he was the man who owns flash car but forgot to learn how to drive it properly.  Somehow this man thinks that by being in his flash car means he can do what he pleases on a single carriageway road and he believe either he's in his other smaller car or he's in another world where magically the road will be bigger and his car get it's own invisible lane that no one else knows is there.  This man doesn't like to wait in queues and will put everyone else in danger just so he can be in front of the traffic.

Also I received an email today called 'Murphy's Lesser Known Laws' and I thought I might add this one to my page as it is relevant.  It said, 'If you lined up all the cars in the world end to end, someone would be stupid enough to try to pass them, five or six at a time, on a hill, in the fog.'  This statement is so true.

Why is it that there is always a driver willing to put everyone's life at risk because they just can't be patient.  Do they think we are all driving slow or queuing for no reason?  Do they think that the only person that matters in the world in themselves?  I think that could be the answer.

While we're on bad driving habits I also encountered 'What's a chevron' man again this morning.  In fact this time he nearly caused a major accident on the M1 by crossing a chevron, cutting me up and then proceeding to cross lanes of the motorway cutting lorries and cars left right and centre.  Congratulations mate, another well deserved driving test pass from Acme School Of Motoring.

UPDATE - 21/10/10

It's drivers again.  Those that passed their test with Acme School of Motoring have been out in force, especially today.  This morning there was an accident in Nottingham and there was a very long queue to the slip road off the M1 with motorway warning signs highlighting the fact that there was a queue off this junction.  People, despite the warning sign and the massive queue, still seemed to think that we were all just queued there for the good of our health's.  Continuing to drive at speed in the lane beside the queue and then at the last minute bring fast traffic to a halt as the stopped and tried to squeeze in small gaps in the queue, rather than joining the end as they should have done.  Don't they realise that this puts everyone's life in danger and not just theirs!
