Family Holidays

Today’s bone of contention is Family Holidays and free child places.  My partner has a son who is 12 years old and we were looking at taking skiing holiday this year.   On reviewing the offers we found out that free child places are only for children under 12 and if you have a child who is 12 or over you have to pay adult prices.  So to go on this skiing trip we would have had to pay for 3 adults.  Come on, this is definitely a farce.  Apart from the fact that we have to book holidays in school time and pay a large premium for that privilege, we have to pay adult prices too.  Since when has a 12 year old legally been able to smoke, drink, have sex or even vote?  All of these are against the law because they are children, so why should we have to pay adult price for them?

I think families should take a stand against these unfair prices and not use the companies that insist on charging adult prices for children.
