Mobile users are driving us to distraction

Unbelievably, despite this now being against the law, there are still people using their mobile phones whilst driving.  When is this going to end?  Just recently I have been behind a person talking on their mobile while joining a dual carriageway at 35 miles an hour.  OK, so you want to die……Well, I don’t.

Also, I’ve noticed people trying to discreetly text on their mobile so that if the police are around they can’t see.  HELLO!  This is still using your mobile while driving, even if you not calling someone.  And, if I can see doing this, then so can the police.

When did people become so stupidly dangerous?  Surely nothing is more important than driving home safely and nothing can be so urgent that it can’t wait until you can either pull over to make a phone call or wait until you get home.  The way I see it – it is better that you’re late than to not get there at all.

Anyway, to prevent this from happening, I reckon it would be good if all new cars came fitted with a universal hands-free kit as standard or maybe when you get a new mobile phone it should include a cheap hands-free kit with it.  I mean, if mobile companies can give away free Playstation 3’s then why not something that’s going to be of use like a hands-free kit.

I think the biggest trouble with this is that the police don’t seem to be bothered by this.  I guess with the speeding cameras making so much money for them do they not feel the need to uphold the law by enforcing the fine for mobile use while driving.  They’ve obviously got too much money to be bothered.
