The two-faced side of Tesco

In new this week – Finally evidence that Foie Gras is cruel to Ducks and Geese, plus a call for a ban of production.  Investigation carried out by charity Four Paws in Hungary and Bulgaria produced results that indicate that ‘force-feeding’ ducks and geese, is the food related equivalent to being an alcoholic and like alcoholism causes the liver of the animal to become diseased, which then needs treated with antibiotics in order for the animal to survive.  Unfortunately, Four Paws charity has received death threats from the Foie Gras farmers in these countries who don’t want this information leaked as it seems that all they care about is the jobs that will be lost through no longer producing Foie Gras.

Also despite how cruel this is Tesco, one of the first supermarkets to be against animal cruelty and testing on animals, are using ‘culture’ as an excuse to sell something and make money.  They are saying that they will not stop selling it in their stores in Hungary because of demand from the Hungarian customers.  The way I see it – you are either against animal cruelty or your not……  Me, I'm not shopping in Tesco until they live up to their statements.
