I could barely contain my excitement at the remake of this film.  King Kong had been one of my many favourite films as a child and to see it remade in colourful sfx quality was going to be awesome.   I guess that my expectations were too high.  The effects were great and just as good as I could have expected but it failed on the acting.  The characters were wooden and whoever dreamed to put funny man Jack Black in this role must have been mad.  I love Jack but he is NOT a serious actor and with his corny line at the end of the film, I left the cinema feeling somehow cheated.  I'm afraid to say that it only scored as high as it did for the effects.
