The Bourne Ultimatum

The question on everyone’s lips at the moment seems to be “Bourne or Bond?”  Well in my opinion it Jason Bourne all the way with his seemingly vulnerable sexiness and smooth-shaven good looks he gets the women hooked and for the men, well, he’s a ‘hard-as-nails’ fighter who’s actually brainy too.  Plus, of course, the film has a great storyline that keeps you guessing, hanging on the edge of your seat and holding your breath, while delivering some funny moments too, and unlike Bond, the women seem to have common sense and character about them, plus are treated with respect.

After waiting for what seemed liked eternity the last film in the Bourne Trilogy, The Bourne Ultimatum, finally came to our cinemas.  Normally I would wait until the crowds died down before going to see a movie but this one I had to see straight away.  So after booking my seats at the first showing in my local cinema and getting there ¾ of an hour early, I eagerly waited for the start of the film.  As you know from my previous reviews, I feel that most directors seem to let you down with 3rd films by seemingly racing it through them or just having a poor storyline but The Bourne Ultimatum didn’t do any of this.  It was as good if not better than the other two, with great action/fight scenes and twists to keep you guessing.  I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be buying it as soon as it makes DVD so that I can watch all three films together.  If you liked the other two films, or if you want something that’s a bit cleverer than James Bond then I highly recommend this movie.  Mind you, if you haven’t seen the first two movies, then you must watch them before going to see this one, otherwise you just won’t get it.

10/10
