The Roxburghe Hotel

Charlotte Square , Edinburgh

This is a great place to stay within walking distance of the castle and old Edinburgh if you don’t mind a good walk.  From the minute we walked through the door we were met with exceptional service from leaving out suitcases with the concierge until check in time to the quick result with our maintenance query and all the staff went out of their way to ensure that our stay was up to standard.  The brilliant breakfasts were included in the price, although vegetarian options were a bit thin on the ground when we stayed there, there was a lot of choice.  The walk to our room was a bit scary with the hallways reminding me so much of ‘The Shining’, that I half expected to round the corner and be met by a couple of freaky twins.  The rooms were clean, with reasonable sized en-suites and plenty of drink choice on the complimentary coffee tray.  There was certainly nothing that I could complain about while I stayed there and would highly recommend this as a place to stay while visiting Edinburgh .
