Labour Government Please read this to the tune of 'Mr President (Have Pity on the Working Man)' by Randy Newman (Not quite a poem but I was listening to that song when this came to me).
You give to the rich, you take from the poor, We’re slowly starving but you still want more, Labour
Government, have pity on the working man. The price of groceries are on the rise, You get expenses for all you buy, Labour Government, have pity on the working man. _________________________ I don't know if you think it's funny, With people everywhere running out of money We can't even seem to heat our house The cost of living is growing higher, We’re now learning you’re a big fat liar, Labour Government, have pity on the working man. You've raised our taxes, our savings are flat Our Pensions mean nothing but you're still getting fat Maybe you only think about yourself Too late to run, too late to cry now, By next election we’ll be saying goodbye now, Labour Government, get the hell out of Number 10, Labour Government, get the hell out of Number 10.
