Smile

As I walk through life alone,
So many friends but no ones at home,
I continue to smile despite feeling sad,
Always replying "I'm not too bad."

A friend will ring to talk of woe,
I listen and then it's time to go,
Listening because it's my greatest skill,
Of others problems with life's steep hill.

No one hears my silent plea,
No one ever listens to me,
Some days all I can do is cry,
But I smile the smile of a well practiced lie.

No one rings to ask if I'm good,
I get the feeling that no one would,
So long as everyone else is fine,
I'll struggle on with this life of mine.

As I walk through life alone,
So many friends but no ones at home,
And as I sink into deep depression,
I smile, just to give a good impression.
