Windows to the soul.

Forgotten, let down,

Cheated, messed around.

Time to forgive, time to forget,

I can't seem to do it, my heart just won't let.

Into my shell, protected I hide,

I'm trying to trust but I’m staying inside.

Don't want to be hurt; I can see it again,

I'm trying to trust but how and when?

I want to believe, I want to be strong,

I know that you love me but tell me how long?

Will your mind change; will you think that it's best?

Will you find someone else and leave like the rest?

My dad always said if the truth be known,

Look in their eyes and true love will be shown.

The eyes are the windows to everyone's soul,

Look deep within them to determine their goal.

If you can see love deep in his eyes,

You’ll know that it's true because love cannot lie.

So I guess that I'm waiting for the first man I see,

Who’s got beautiful eyes and true love for me.
